Chelsea Maybee

SSC Parenting Educator

A Bit About Me

Chelsea lives in West Seattle with her husband, two human daughters and two animal daughters. Chelsea found co-op when their family was adjusting to the reality of parenting two young kids and looking for more community. Co-op was transformational for their family, helping them build a village they were yearning for and enhancing their parenting with research based guidance and support. After years of co-op with her kids, Chelsea couldn't stay away and recently joined the team as a Parent Educator.
Chelsea loves that she gets to help build a foundation for community and parent/child connection that is so important in the early years. With a passion for nurturing growth, she believes that parenting is a journey of mutual learning, where both parents and children evolve together. Parenting is a messy, scary, but incredibly beautiful metamorphosis and Chelsea is committed to helping folks navigate the challenges and joys of parenthood with confidence and compassion.
In her free time Chelsea enjoys gardening, hiking, baking and being outside with her family.

What is your superpower?

Share your favorite preschooler-approved joke!

How do you make a tissue dance? You put a little boogie in it!

Always lots of cool rocks and leaves and sticks and pieces of garbage after an outdoor day in Lincoln Park!

What does co-op mean to you?

Co-op means community - carpools and pickups and staying late with your kid and book recommendations and hand-me-downs and meal trains and running into someone you know everywhere you go.
