What is a co-op preschool?
A preschool for your child, and a learning community for your whole family.
For Your Child
Your child is enrolled in a preschool class based on their age group at one of our locations. Each class is led by a professional preschool teacher and designed to support your child's development.
For You
An adult from your family enrolls alongside your child through South Seattle College and works with a professional parent educator to earn college credit while actively participating in the program.
What Participation Looks Like
Co-op families share in the day-to-day life of the classroom and the program community.
Weekly Classroom Day
Work in the classroom as an assistant teacher.
Monthly Evening Class Meeting
Half preschool business, half parent education
Hold a Co-op Job
Help the program run by holding a job (see below)
Quarterly Parent Ed Seminar
Choose at least one from a slate of topics each quarter.

Board President
Oversees operations of the preschool site and leads board and all-school business meetings
PAC Representative
Connects your class to the wider co-op network and advocates for shared resources and scholarships.
Play Dough Maker
Prepares play dough as needed by the classroom teacher to support in-class activities.
Class Photographer
Captures classroom moments in real time and organizes class-wide sharing of photos.
Digital Content Coordinator
Manages communications and website content to keep families informed and connected.
In the Classroom
Our classrooms are intentionally designed to support hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning. Curriculum aligns with WaKIDS Kindergarten Entrance Guidelines, supporting a smooth transition to school.
