Lincoln Park Preschool Teacher

A Bit About Me

I have been involved with coop preschool since 2007; both of my children attended Lincoln Park Coop Preschool. I have enjoyed being in the classroom with enthusiastic learners and amazing teachers. Coop was a great way for me to find my way as a teacher. As an empathetic, fun-loving parent, I bring a nurturing energy to the classroom. I am committed to provide wonderful learning experiences for my students. My promise to all children is to be present and give them a sense of belonging. My goal is to build connections and create a safe learning environment for children, and to support every child in the classroom. I am committed to meet the needs of my students so they can become confident and curious learners.

I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. It’s important to me to constantly reflect on my growth as an educator. I continue to evolve my teaching philosophy and broadening my understanding. As a caregiver I strive to meet the child and family where they are at, by observing, listening, and reflecting constantly. I truly believe the best approach for any human is to lead with love, intention, and compassion.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, photography, crafting, camping, and being a Girl Scout Troop Leader! Most of all, I love spending time with my family.

Patience

Share your favorite preschooler-approved joke!

Sometimes when I'm checking to see if my preschoolers are listening, I'll say, "let's go inside and wash our hair," instead of hands. They think it's hilarious!

Share the most unusual or adorable item you've found in your pocket after a day at school.

A googly eye! It was planted there by one of my prek students.

What does co-op mean to you?

To me, co-op means building relationships with families and the community and coming together to make sure everyone is supported and loved. Through that connection, we support children so they can learn and grow and be their best selves.
